A standard superhero narrative with a female empowerment twist; the lengthy bore drags on and on with scanty tension despite the uncontrollable force, the aliens who want the world, and the fresh and colorful ensemble cast.

A colorful and late sequel that features some smooth action and a believable villain but that is way too cartoonish and bland to do much more than mildly excite or put you to sleep.

A rehashing of a franchise that can’t live up to the original despite a promising new lead; there is some action and suspense but overall it feels uninspired and unnecessary.

A somewhat dark psychological thriller with some interesting turns but that isn’t nearly as dim or as warped as it could be; it’s neither fully sane nor insane.

A teen romance with a medical spin that, while somewhat sweet, is nothing that hasn’t been done before or that is particularly memorable or honest; it’s yet another of many similar stories.
